Part 2: How to Align Your Strategy with Your Target Operating Model
In our last post, we highlighted the importance of aligning your organisational strategy with your Target Operating Model (TOM).
But how do you achieve this alignment?
First, clearly define your strategic objectives—know exactly what success looks like for your organisation.
Then, conduct a thorough assessment of your current TOM to identify any gaps that may hinder the execution of your strategy.
This analysis should include evaluating processes, structures, and technologies to determine where changes are necessary.
Once you’ve identified the gaps, the next step is to redesign your TOM to better support your strategic goals.
This may involve restructuring teams, reengineering processes, or adopting new technologies that enhance operational efficiency.
Remember, this is not a one-time task; continuous monitoring and adjustments are necessary as your business environment and goals evolve.
Stay tuned for our next post, where we’ll explore the common challenges in aligning strategy and TOM and provide insights on how to overcome them.
